State is set to host Excellencia 2025, a two-day festival of quality and excellence in higher education, reaffirming the State government’s commitment to strengthening quality, accountability, and innovation in the sector.
Organised by the State Level Quality Assurance Cell (SLQAC Kerala) under the Higher Education department, the event will be inaugurated by Higher Education and Social Justice Minister R. Bindu on September 15 at Tagore Theatre in Thiruvananthapuram. NAAC Advisor Devendra Kawade will deliver the keynote address.
1,000-odd delegates
The conclave will bring together academic leaders, policy makers, Planning Board members, and representatives from universities and colleges across the State to deliberate on strategies to reinforce a culture of quality in higher education. Over 1,000 delegates, including vice-chancellors, registrars, principals, senior administrators, and faculty, are expected to attend.
“Excellencia is not just a celebration of achievements but also a platform to share best practices and drive systemic improvement in quality in the higher education sector,” Ms. Bindu said.
A highlight of the event will be the ‘Minister’s Excellence Award’, which will be conferred on institutions that have earned NAAC A++, A+, or A grades and those that have made remarkable progress in NIRF/KIRF rankings.
While the inaugural session and award ceremony will take place on September 15 at Tagore Theatre, the second day’s proceedings will be held at Mar Ivanios College campus. A State-level workshop for IQAC (Internal Quality Assurance Cell) coordinators and directors will be organised at the Girideepam Auditorium on September 16, where the Annual Action Plan for IQAC coordinators will also be released during the valedictory function.
