A wedding ceremony in Tewari Majheda village in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh turned into chaos when the groom’s and bride’s side clashed over serving of fried chicken. The video has gone viral showing clashes and alleged injuries to both sides, forcing intervention by police.
The matter escalated after certain relatives of the groom expressed dissatisfaction regarding the less servings of chicken fry dish, which created a tense atmosphere at the event. To alleviate their concerns, the bride’s family provided additional portions. However, rather than feeling content, the guests claimed food was not being served with proper etiquette. A video recorded at the venue has emerged on the social media platform X, showing fight and scuffle.
The police said they received a call about some disturbances and the local law enforcement unit reached the venue. They said the marriage went on peacefully and no complaint was received from either side.
“We received a call about a dispute among the wedding guests which, the caller informed, has turned into a fight. Our teams reached the spot — a private banquet hall located in Majheda of the Nagina police station area. No one is injured. No complaint has been received from either side. The situation was normal when our teams conducted searches. We ensured that the wedding passed of peacefully,” Anjani Kumar Chaturvedi, Deputy Superintendent of Police-cum-Circle Officer, Nagina, told The Hindu.
