Shillong: A two-day national seminar on ‘Craft, Culture and Commerce of Cinema in North-East India’, organised by the department of journalism and mass communication, North-Eastern Hill University, concluded on Tuesday.The seminar provided a critical platform for scholars and filmmakers to dissect the evolving role of cinema in the region, with a particular focus on Khasi cinema.Lapynshai Syiem, associate professor, said Khasi cinema goes beyond being an artistic tool, functioning as a cplatform for teaching and learning.
