A short clip has gone viral showing a British woman dissolving into tears of relief and joy after her Indian visa was approved, just two days before her flight. In the video, London-based content creator Laura Lyne, known to her followers as @londonki_lali reads the email, laughs in disbelief, then says, simply and exactly, 'My heart is full again.
'A text overlay in the clip sums it up: 'The pure joy of finally getting visa to my fave country. After 2x rejected visas. I got approval 2 days before my flight. Finally, I’m home.' While the video is wholesome and her appreciation of Indian culture seems genuine, netizens couldn't ignore the irony behind it- a British woman enthused about her Indian visa approval. To Laura's credit, she does seem, as it says on her Instagram, an 'Indian Subcontinent enthusiast'.
Her page is full of content that presents that sentiment as well. She tries Indian food at various places in London, is friends with the Indian diaspora there, visits Indian temples, and loves Indian chai. She explains that her fascination with India started when she first visited the country. She writes, "I went to India for the first time when I was 23 years old and then got completely HOOKED and obsessed with all things to do with India! I've been on many trips to India, and I find that I learn new things on every trip I take."
To understand more of the culture and appreciate it, she confesses that she took Hindi language classes for 5 years. “So I have a good base knowledge of Hindi and although I am very out of practice I do like to try and speak it occasionally!”Her dream she says is to discover more of the Indian subcontinent “I’ve learnt recently that I don't just love India, I have a natural thirst for knowledge for many other cultures too - but particularly the ones that are in the Indian Subcontinent ;) I would love to travel to Pakistan and Bangladesh one day,” she writes on her YouTube description. Her genuineness has made her quite viral with over 43.5k followers, with her most viral reel garnering 16 million views.
