Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has strongly condemned Israel’s recent military actions in Lebanon, calling them a violation of an existing ceasefire agreement.

In a post on social media, Pezeshkian said, “Israel’s renewed incursion into Lebanon is a blatant violation of the initial ceasefire agreement. This is a dangerous sign of deception and lack of commitment to potential agreements." He warned that continued military actions would undermine diplomatic efforts, adding, “The continuation of these actions will render negotiations meaningless."

The Iranian president also issued a strong warning of support for Lebanon, stating, “Our fingers remain on the trigger. Iran will never abandon its Lebanese sisters and brothers."

In a related statement, he described the situation as ongoing aggression, saying, “The repeated aggression by the Zionist entity against Lebanon is a flagrant violation of the initial ceasefire agreement and a dangerous indicator of deceit and lack of commitment to potential accords. The continuation of these aggressions will render negotiations meaningless;"

The remarks come amid rising tensions in the region, with concerns growing over the impact on ceasefire efforts and broader stability in the Middle East.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Warns Of Consequences

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has also warned of consequences over alleged ceasefire violations and stressing the role of Iran’s regional allies.

In a post on social media, Ghalibaf said, “Lebanon and the entire Resistance Axis, as Iran’s allies, form an inseparable part of the ceasefire. (Point 1, 10-point proposal)".

He also referred to remarks by Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, stating, “PM Shehbaz Sharif publicly and clearly stressed the Lebanon issue; there is no room for denial and backtracking."

Issuing a direct warning over continued hostilities, he added, “Ceasefire violations carry explicit costs and STRONG responses. Extinguish the fire immediately."

Israel Launches Fresh Strikes On Lebanon

Israel on Thursday launched fresh strikes on Lebanon raising concerns over the ceasefire in the West Asia. The latest attacks come after some of the deadliest assaults in the conflict, which reportedly killed more than 250 people and risked derailing former US President Donald Trump’s proposed truce at an early stage.

Meanwhile, Iranian negotiators were expected to leave for Pakistan later in the day to begin the first round of peace talks related to the conflict, with a meeting scheduled with a US delegation on Saturday.
