FIR against Curti ex-sarpanch for molestation

Ponda: Police have registered an FIR against Abhijit Gaude, former sarpanch of the Curti-Khandepar panchayat in Ponda taluka, for alleged molestation.As per the complainant, Gaude went to her house on late Sunday evening and outraged her modesty, abused her with filthy language and assaulted her and her father.

He also threatened her family.

He was under the influence of alcohol, stated the complaint.Ponda police said an FIR has been registered against him under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.As of Monday evening, he was not arrested, said the police. Further investigations are under way.
