FIR against politician after woman accuses him of rape, exploiting minors

Mumbai: Dahisar police have filed an FIR against a local politician after a 23-year-old woman working at a Borivli bar accused him of rape. She also accused him of sexually exploiting minors forced to work at bars.

The FIR names seven other accused, including bar owners and staff.The woman said in her complaint that she is an MBA student from MP and moved to Mumbai to look for a good job. She said the politician saw her dancing at a bar where she had gone after being told that it was an event gig. He allegedly offered her a job at a chartered accountant’s office. He called her to Sanjay Gandhi National Park, where he allegedly drugged her in his car and filmed her in the nude.The woman alleged that on subsequent occasions too, he forced her to get intimate with him after promising to marry her.In her complaint, the woman listed violations committed by bars in north Mumbai, the presence of minor girls at the bars and 40% of their earnings being taken away by bar owners. Police are yet to arrest the accused.
