Mumbai: The police have registered an FIR against the principals, secretaries and directors of 35 primary schools operating without recognition in the jurisdiction of Shivaji Nagar police station in Govandi, following a complaint by a BMC education official.The education department found that 164 primary schools across Mumbai were operating without authorisation during the academic year 2025-26. Of these, 35 schools fall under Shivaji Nagar police station limits.Notices were issued to the institutions, principals and secretaries directing closure of the schools and seeking explanations in seven days. Among the schools named were Blue Angels English School in Baiganwadi, Citizen English Primary School, Shri Shivajirao Salve Primary School in Govandi, and Sana Urdu Primary School in Shivajinagar. - Ahmed Ali
