Fire breaks at BVFCL ammonia plant in Namrup

Dibrugarh: A fire broke out at the Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL) ammonia plant in Namrup on Sunday evening, just days before PM Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to the area.The incident has raised concerns about safety protocols at the facility, located 1,000 metres from the plant where the PM will lay the foundation stone.No official statement has been released regarding the extent of damage as firefighters battle to control the blaze. However no injuries or casualties has been reported.
