Lucknow: Aliganj fire victim, Jayant Gupta (26) is responding to treatment at the Trauma Centre of King George’s Medical University and is recovering, but he has yet to regain sensation in the lower part of his body.
He had sustained spinal injury when he fell from the second floor of the building in an attempt to escape the blaze. Jayant sustained multiple rib fractures, burn injuries and mental trauma which are all being closely monitored and treated.Doctors said he remains under close observation in the ICU and is receiving specialised treatment, while medical experts are optimistic about his recovery and believe his condition may improve with continued care and rehabilitation.Chief medical superintendent of the Trauma Centre at KGMU, Prof Premraj Singh, said, “The patient is responding to the treatment and is recovering, but he still lacks sensation in his lower body which the multi-speciality medical teams are analyzing. We are hopeful of restoring normalcy and recovery once the patient is able to move on his own.”
