First Godavari flood warning in force

With inflows still exceeding 11 lakh cusecs, the Godavari first flood warning remains in force at Sir Arthur Cotton barrage at Dowleswaram. However, within the next 24 hours it is expected to decline. 

Residents of the islands along the river Godavari have been advised not to cross the river. All fishing activity has been suspended throughout the Godavari region. 

In Chintoor Agency in Alluri Sitharama Raju district, officials are providing essential commodities to people affected by the Godavari flood. As on Monday, at least 30 villages have been cut off.
