Five members from two families, including two minor girls, died on the spot, while two women survived with severe injuries after the car in which the seven persons were returning hit a milk tanker from behind near Vadisaleru village on the Kakinada-Rajahmundry ADB road in East Godavari district at 6 p.m on Monday. Both the families are natives of Raghunadhapuram village in Rajanagaram Mandal, East Godavari district.
East Godavari Superintendent of Police D. Narasimha Kishore told The Hindu, “The deceased have been identified as Relangi Sivannarayana, who was driving the car, his father, R. Satyanarayana, and his 13-year-old daughter, R. Varshitha. The other two deceased, from the other family, are Teegareddi. Suribabu, 30, and his four-year-old daughter Sanvi”.
Those who survived with severe injuries are Mr. Sivannarayana’s daughter, Relangi Harshitha, 13, and 26-year-old T. Bhavani. They have been admitted to the Government General Hospital in Rajamahendravaram City. The police have registered a case and investigation is on.
