Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao might finally settle their rivalry in explosive Netflix fight 2026

Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao are set to share the ring again, 11 years after their famous first fight in 2015. According to The Ring Magazine and TalkSport, both boxing legends are in early talks for a blockbuster Netflix live event in 2026.

The platform, which recently entered live sports, plans to host this mega rematch to attract a global audience. Pacquiao, now 46, returned to boxing in July 2025, while Mayweather, 48, remains active through exhibition fights.

With Netflix strongly considering staging the fight as one of its largest live events ever, the talks apparently started in October 2025. At the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas on May 2, 2015, their first meeting, called "The Fight of the Century" took place. Using his excellent defence and counterpunching, Floyd Mayweather Jr. vanquished Manny Pacquiao by unanimous decision after 12 rounds that evening to dominate the fight.

Later, Pacquiao admitted he had fought with a shoulder injury restricting his mobility in that fight. Still, the occasion produced over $400 million, breaking all pay-per-view records at the time. Depending on sponsorships and scheduling, the fresh rematch is expected to happen either in the Middle East or possibly in Las Vegas.

A source told The Ring Magazine: “Talks are real. Both sides are open to making this happen under Netflix.” Pacquiao himself hinted at the fight, saying, “There are talks. I’m still training and ready. It’s up to Mayweather.”

Manny Pacquiao’s comeback and Mayweather’s recent fights

Returning in July 2025 following a four-year absence, Manny Pacquiao battled Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight title. The draw from the fight showed Pacquiao was still capable of matching speed and stamina. Floyd Mayweather Jr. has, however, kept under attention despite not having had a professional battle since his TKO triumph over Conor McGregor in 2017. Logan Paul and John Gotti III fight at an exhibition.Though earlier speculated to battle Mike Tyson in 2026, Floyd Mayweather may have to postpone that bout given this fresh rematch in the works. If confirmed, the fight would mark Netflix’s boldest step yet into combat sports following its recent live boxing card featuring Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul and Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano.
