 FJCCI to Jharkhand govt ahead of state budget

Jharkhand's business chamber urges the state government to prioritize MSME development ahead of the budget, advocating for dedicated land banks, a fully functional MSME directorate, and improved access to capital. Proposals include special incentives for the mica industry, solar energy subsidies for MSMEs, and an overhaul of the single-window system to boost investor confidence and create jobs across districts.

Ranchi: Ahead of the state budget, the Federation of Jharkhand Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) suggested the state govt to focus on development of micro small and medium enterprises (MSME) as they are the true backbone of employment.FJCCI president Aditya Malhotra stressed on establishment of dedicated 25-acre land banks in every district for MSME manufacturing as it will prevent the flight of capital to neighbouring state.He urged the govt to fully operationalise the dedicated MSME directorate to bolster investor confidence and ensure regional job creation. He also proposed lowering of cost of capital and improving liquidity for the small industries.The FJCCI president advocated for special incentive package for mica industry, adding the reopening of closed mines will not only increase govt royalties but also breathe life back into local livelihoods.He said that in order to support the green transition, subsidy up to 40 to 60% should be given for rooftop solar to MSMEs and a "Green Tariff" for those opting for 100 percent renewable energy. He recommended a distribution model that minimizes voltage fluctuations and unscheduled downtime.

He asked for a overhauling the single-window system while stating that efficacy of the existing system is a matter of concern. He said investors are still forced to navigate multiple departments to secure individual NOCs and clearances.He proposed the constitution of a permanent 'Trade and Industry Commission' for grievance redressal. He urged the government to establish a time-bound mechanism to clear all outstanding payments of contractors of government departments.He requested the govt to officially appoint FJCCI as the "State Industry Partner" to provide continuous feedback.He suggested establishment of "Aparajita" women’s vendor markets in every district for SHGs and cottage industries to empower our women entrepreneurs.It may be stated here that state government would be holding a meeting with the bankers on Monday. It is also inviting suggestions through Abua Dishom Guru Portal and mobile app. The last date of giving suggestions has been extended to January 20.
