A food delivery agent allegedly attacked a woman and injured her severely in Odisha’s Bhubaneswar after she questioned him over the delay in his arrival, according to a report.
The incident took place on Thursday, in which the victim was identified as Binodini Rath.
She had ordered food online; however, its delivery was delayed by the delivery agent, identified as Tapan Das. As she asked him the reason behind the delay, an argument broke out between the two, after which the man attacked her with a sharp weapon, NDTV reported.
She sustained injuries on her neck, head, hands, and legs. She was rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention.
The woman was employed as a nurse at a private hospital. As the cops arrived on the spot, they arrested the delivery agent and confiscated the weapon used for the attack, the report said.
Das was found to be intoxicated at the time of the crime, his medical examination revealed.
