Jethmalani told the court there was “something very secretive about this will,” arguing that it did not properly involve Sunjay Kapur

Sunjay Kapur’s sister Mandira Kapur Smith says that his will is suspicious.
The high-stakes legal battle over late businessman Sunjay Kapur’s ₹3,000-crore estate took another dramatic turn on Monday as the Delhi High Court continued hearing a plea filed by actor Karisma Kapoor’s children. Representing Samaira, 20, and Kiaan, 15, senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani alleged that Kapur’s will had been forged to deliberately “disinherit" his children from his first marriage.
According to an NDTV report, Jethmalani told the court there was “something very secretive about this will," arguing that it did not properly involve Sunjay Kapur and that no related documents had been shared with the family.
He further questioned the authenticity of the document, pointing out that it misspelled his client’s brother’s name and listed the daughter’s address incorrectly — “bloopers" he said were “very uncharacteristic of Sunjay Kapur."
“Sunjay Kapur was in great health and his Indian property was secured by a tight trust. The circumstantial evidence is so completely contrary it leads to assumptions… that the contents of the will are bad. I say this based on his phone conversations with his ‘disinherited’ children," Jethmalani said, adding that Kapur had shared a close relationship with his children, making such errors and omissions highly unlikely.
During the previous hearing on October 9, senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani raised doubts over why a well-educated man like Sunjay Kapur would neglect to inform the executor of his will about her appointment, describing the circumstances as “highly suspicious."
He went on to liken Priya Kapur’s role in the ongoing inheritance dispute to that of “Cinderella’s stepmother," suggesting manipulation and unfair treatment.
Sunjay Kapur, 53, passed away on June 12 after suffering a heart attack while participating in a polo match in the United Kingdom.
