Former Bellator champ Patricio Pitbull gets a second chance in the UFC against featherweight contender Dan Ige after the 314 debacle

After an impressive stint within Bellator, Patricio Pitbull failed to make a mark in his debut match at UFC 314 against Yair Rodriguez. The second fighter after Ryan Bader to hold two titles simultaneously, Pitbull is considered one of the best Bellator fighters of all time. Despite his loss in the debut match of the UFC, the fighter got another chance to bounce back without having to wait much longer. Pitbull, for his second bout within the promotion, will reportedly be facing Dan Ige at UFC 318.

Patricio Pitbull, after a dispute related to his contract with the PFL, insisted on the promotion releasing him, which was soon followed by his signing with the biggest MMA promotion, UFC. Naturally, with a career stint like Pitbull’s, a fighter would be ambitious with whatever next step he takes. And so for the Brazilian fighter, it was not much different when he wanted to kickstart his UFC career with an impressive win.

However, things did not go well when he was unanimously defeated by the former interim champion, Yair Rodriguez, after a neck-and-neck 3-round match.

Now, after less than two months' wait, the fighter reportedly got his second chance at earning his first UFC win. According to sources, Pitbull will face a fan favorite, featherweight contender Dan Ige, at UFC 318. The event will be headlined by the third rematch between Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier.

Holloway has lost his previous matches against Poirier and looks forward to settling the score in the upcoming main event.Dan’s last bout was on the preliminary cards of UFC 314, where the fighter won via a knockout against Sean Woodson. The victory put an end to the 2-match losing streak of the fighter, allowing him to look further ahead in strengthening his position within the division.
