All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Mallikarjun Kharge unveiled the statue of former Chief Minister of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, K. Rosaiah, at Lakdikapul in Hyderabad on Friday (July 4, 2025).

Who is K. Rosaiah?

Mr. Rosaiah took over as the Chief Minister of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh after the untimely death of Y.S. Rajashekhara Reddy in a helicopter accident. He served as the Chief Minister through the politically turbulent times when the Telangana agitation was at its peak. He was later replaced by N. Kiran Kumar Reddy.

Mr. Rosaiah later was appointed as the Governor of Tamil Naidu. He served as the Finance Minister in the combined A.P. under various Chief Ministers and holds the record of presenting maximum budgets.

Besides Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, other members of Telangana cabinet who attended the statue unveiling were Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Raods & Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, Khairtabad MLA Danam Nagender, senior Congress leader KVP Ramchandra Rao and Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Reddy.
