Former Kerala Congress leader M R Reghuchandrabal passes away at 75

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former Kerala Congress leader and state excise minister M R Reghuchandrabal passed away at 75 in a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday following an illness, according to party sources.Reghuchandrabal, who entered politics decades ago, served as president of the Kanjiramkulam panchayat during the 1980s, according to news agency PTI.He was a two-time MLA, representing Kovalam and Parassala constituencies in the state Assembly in 1980 and 1991 respectively.He held the position of excise minister in K Karunakaran's government from 1991 to 1995.Beyond his political career, Reghuchandrabal was also known for writing poems, composing dramas and staging them.He is survived by his wife and two children.
