Four held for burglary in Hyderabad, loot worth over Rs 1.7 crore recovered; 3 absconding

HYDERABAD: Police arrested four persons on Tuesday in connection with a house burglary in Basheerbagh reported around ten days ago.During a joint operation, the Narayanguda police and the East Zone Commissioner Task Force team recovered 158 tolas of stolen gold and Rs 10.75 lakh in cash from the accused, with an estimated total value of around Rs 1.7 crore.The police said that the accused were identified as Chaupal Sagar Kumar, Akash Kumar Mandal, Chandrashekhar and Saqlain Khan, while three associates, including two women, are absconding. DCP East Zone B Balaswamy said the gang targeted the locked residence while the owners were away and stole 173 tolas of gold, cash and expensive watches. Following a complaint from the owner, businessman Nukala Rama Krishna, special teams were deployed to arrest the burglars.With the help of CCTV footage, the teams apprehended the accused in Asif Nagar on Monday and produced them before the court on Tuesday. The police said that the investigation is ongoing in order to apprehend the absconding suspects and recover the stolen goods. tnn
