Four men rape two minor girls in Steel City hotel, arrested

Jamshedpur: Four men, aged between 18-25 years, were arrested from different parts of the city for allegedly raping two minor girls in a city hotel earlier on October 16. An FIR in this connection was lodged by the survivors, two 12-year-old girls, with a city police station on Friday.

In their FIR, the survivors claimed that one of the accused was their friend and had asked them to meet at the hotel.In a statement on Saturday, city police said the accused were forwarded to judicial custody on Saturday while the survivors were taken the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College and Hospital for medical tests. “Based on the FIR, the accused were arrested from their homes. All the accused are residents of different police station areas of the city. A case has been registered under relevant sections of POCSO Act,” the statement read.
