Four Ugandan women detained in Vizag
Visakhapatnam: The PM Palem police in Vizag city reportedly took four Ugandan women into custody following a complaint by an autorickshaw driver, who alleged that they assaulted him.Police said the four women had been staying at a guest accommodation in the PM Palem locality for the past few days and had befriended the autorickshaw driver, Appala Raju, through an online app.According to police, one of the women held a business visa, two were on medical visas, and the fourth had a student visa that had expired long ago. The women had been staying in north India before arriving in Vizag a few days ago. Their activities and any pending police cases are currently being verified.Police found that the women only had photocopies of their passports and visas, while the originals were reportedly kept in New Delhi. Officials said details have been shared with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) in Hyderabad, as well as with state and central intelligence agencies, for further verification.As there was no evidence of criminal or anti-national activity, the women were shifted to a home for women in Arilova.
