Max Verstappen leads Forbes' 2025 F1 earnings list with a whopping $76M, ahead of Hamilton and Norris. Check the full breakdown of top-paid drivers.
Even though Max Verstappen failed to retain his driver’s championship title at the end of the 2025 Formula 1 season, he managed to become the highest-paid driver this year. Let us take a look at the full list, which has been released by Forbes.

Max Verstappen earned a whopping $76 million this year. While his salary was $65 million, the rest of it was bonuses. Compared to his dominant 2023 and 2024 seasons, where he won at least seven of the first ten GP each year, Verstappen had a slower start this year, claiming only two wins in the first 15 rounds (Picture credit: AP)

Lewis Hamilton earned $70.5 million this year, with $70 million of it coming from his salary. After revealing last year that he would be leaving Mercedes after 12 seasons and six drivers’ championships, Hamilton said that joining Ferrari would fulfil a 'childhood dream' (Picture credit: AP)

Lando Norris earned a whopping $57.5 million in 2025, with just $18 million of it coming from his salary. Early last season, Norris claimed a dubious record, becoming the Formula 1 driver with the most podiums without a race victory, after bagging his 15th top-three finish in China that April. Oscar Piastri earned $37.5 million this year, with $10 million in salaries. He spent the season in a fierce championship battle with Lando Norris. Though he finished 13 points behind the latter and 11 behind a late-charging Max Verstappen, he bagged seven GP victories, 16 podiums and played a key role in clinching the constructors’ title in October (Picture credit: AP)

Charles Leclerc earned $30 million in 2025, with all of it coming from his salary. On the bright side, Leclerc, whose contract runs through 2029, according to reports, announced his engagement to model Alexandra Saint Mleux last month and bagged brand partnerships with Chivas Regal and Eight Sleep as well (Picture credit: AP)

Fernando Alonso earned $26.5 million this year, with $24 million of it coming from his salary. After a disappointing 2024, Alonso endured an even harder 2025, dropping to tenth in the drivers’ standings with 56 points as Aston Martin slumped to seventh in the constructors’ table (Picture credit: AP)

George Russell earned $26 million in 2025, with $15 million coming from his salary. With Hamilton moving to Ferrari, Russell became Mercedes’ undisputed No. 1 in 2025, finishing fourth in the drivers’ standings and claiming two GP wins (Picture credit: AP)
