 Tripura invites travellers to a three-day festival in New Delhi

For those who want to get an authentic taste of Tripura without leaving the capital, the Tripura Global Pineapple Festival 2026 is offering exactly that. Organised by the Department of Horticulture and Soil Conservation under the Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Department, Government of Tripura, the three-day festival will be held from June 27 to 29, 2026, at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi.

The activity coincides with International Pineapple Day.More than just a fruit exhibition, the event aims to showcase Tripura as an emerging travel hub for cultural, and agri-tourism. Visitors can explore the state's celebrated GI-tagged Queen Pineapple and interact with farmers. The place will also offer regional products allowing people in North India to get an insight into the livelihoods of Northeast India. The festival will be attended by senior dignitaries from the Centre and the state governments along with international delegates, trade buyers, and policymakers. The Queen Pineapple was awarded a Geographical Indication (GI) tag in 2014. It is Trioura’s one of the prized possessions. The fruit is known for its unique sweetness and aroma.

It is cultivated across nearly 12,000 hectares and has become a symbol of the state..Beyond fresh fruit, visitors can sample and discover a wide range of pineapple-based products such as jams, juices, candies, dehydrated snacks, chutneys, sauces, vinegar, and desserts.
