Vishwan Sen is gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie 'Funky' starring alongside 'Dragon' fame Kayadu Lohar. Directed by Anudeep KV, the film is a family entertainer. The makers are yet to announce the release date of the film.

Now, the latest reports suggest a tentative window when the film hits big screens.As per a report by CineExpress, 'Funky' is likely to arrive in theatres on December 25, coinciding with the Christmas weekend. The team has yet to make an official announcement, but reports indicate that the makers are eyeing the festive window for release, given the positive response to the film's teaser unveiled recently.

A satirical take on the film industry

The teaser has a playful, satirical tone, taking a light-hearted dig at the cinema industry and its people through situational comedy. Vishwak Sen is seen as Komal as a popular film director and on the other hand, Kayadu Lohar plays Chitra who is an actress and the daughter of a wealthy producer. The film also features notable supporting roles from senior actors Naresh and VTV Ganesh.The music of the film is composed by Bheems Ceciroleo.

Speaking of the Christmas release window, the Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur starrer 'Dacoit' was scheduled for the same date, but it seems that the film will be postponed due to Sesh's on-set injuries. Following that, Roshan Meka's 'Champion', a period sports drama is also locked in the Christmas weekend.

Vishwak Sen was last seen in the 2025 release action-comedy 'Laila'. The film is about a stylish beautician, Sonu who finds himself in trouble after inadvertently offending a local MLA. To avoid the police and a dangerous antagonist named Rustum, he disguises himself as a woman named Laila.The movie has a comedic sequence with some romance and action. However, it could not connect with the audience for its presentation and had an underwhelming run.
