Senior Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI (M)] leader G. Sudhakaran has expressed displeasure over not being invited to the P. Krishna Pillai commemoration at Valiya Chudukkad in Alappuzha.
The memorial programme was jointly organised by the CPI(M) and the Communist Party of India on Tuesday.
After the official programme concluded and the leaders left the memorial, Mr. Sudhakaran arrived at Valiya Chudukkad in an autorickshaw and paid his respects to Krishna Pillai. Until last year, Mr. Sudhakaran had regularly been invited to the programme.
“After V.S. Achuthanandan became unwell, I was the one who inaugurated the programme in recent years. I am a senior party member. I have been a party member for 62 years. They didn’t call me this time. I don’t know why I was not invited to the programme,” Mr. Sudhakaran said.
The commemoration meet was inaugurated by CPI(M) leader Elamaram Kareem. CPI State secretary Binoy Viswam, Ministers Saji Cherian and P. Prasad, and other leaders attended the function.
