M. Maheshwar Rao, Chief Commissioner of the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA), inspected the Hennur–Bagalur Road white-topping work, J.C. Road white-topping, and the newly constructed Hoskerehalli flyover, late night on November 11.

Approximately 5 km of the Hennur–Bagalur Road within the East City Corporation limits is being white-topped. Of this, one km on one side and 600 metres on the other have been completed. Mr. Rao has set a 25-day deadline to complete another 1.2 km stretch.

Traffic will be restricted on a 1.2-km portion from Poorna Prajna School to Gubbi Cross, allowing two-way movement on the remaining half. Similar phased restrictions of 1–1.5 km segments will be implemented, as approved by the traffic police.

To prevent congestion during the work, the Chief Commissioner directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police (North, Traffic) to deploy Home Guards to ensure that no vehicle is parked along the work zones, and that traffic flow is managed efficiently.

Mass cleanliness drive

Mr. Rao instructed that a mass cleanliness drive be undertaken along high-density corridor roads to remove waste, debris, and silt from footpaths. “Jet sprays are to be used for thorough cleaning, and continuous maintenance of cleanliness must be ensured,” he said.

Inspection of road repairs

Within the Bengaluru West City Corporation limits, the Chief Commissioner inspected pothole repair work near Peenya Basaveshwara Bus Stand. He directed engineers to ensure that repairs meet quality standards.

In the North City Corporation limits, he inspected asphalting work on Subroto Mukherjee Road. He instructed officials to maintain quality by properly rolling the road surface before reopening it to traffic.

Inspection of J.C. Road white-topping work

White-topping work on the 1-km stretch from Minerva Circle to Town Hall is underway. Work on half of the road has been completed and opened to traffic while the remaining 250 metres will be finished within four days. Mr. Rao directed officials to ensure timely completion of the work.
