WNBA star Angel Reese has recently been advised by a WNBA executive to ask the Chicago Sky for a trade this offseason. This year, the Sky will once more miss the playoffs. Now, the comment came following her recent suspension by the Chicago Sky.

This happened as a result of her allegedly "detrimental to the team" comments regarding her teammates. In an interview with the Chicago Tribune, Reese made news for reportedly criticizing her colleagues.

Angel Reese’s comments ignite trade rumors as WNBA executive blasts Chicago Sky’s management

The women's basketball community has been rocked by a statement made by Chicago Sky pro Angel Reese while interviewing with the Chicago Tribune for an article published on September 3. She talked about the need to do "what's best for me" during the interview if nothing changes.

Additionally, she discussed the necessity of not "settling for the same s–t we did this year." She continued by stating that she anticipates the front office to add a lot more "great players" in free agency this coming offseason than they did the previous one. She further told the publication:“I am very vocal about what we need and what I want… I’d like to be here for my career, but if things don’t pan out, obviously I might have to move in a different direction..

But while I am here, I’m going to try to stay open-minded about what I have here and maximize that as much as I can.”

She later stated that she would not hesitate to leave the team in favor of another team that is more dedicated to winning if things don't turn out the way she wants them to. Now, numerous trade rumors and discussions were later sparked by these remarks. In response, a WNBA executive claimed that Angel Reese should insist on a trade because the Chicago Sky are the league's “worst-run” team. In a Dallas Hoops Journal story published on September 8, they also made a bold prediction on Reese's future in Chicago. They said: “She needs to get the hell out of there. Chicago is probably the worst-run organization in the league.

You’re gonna suspend your best player just because she’s putting pressure on you to get better? That was embarrassing to see.”They continued: “I think Chicago will try to trade her this offseason, but if they don’t, she should request a trade.”

Angel Reese suspended for first half of Sky game after critical remarks about teammates

Angel Reese received a suspension for the first half of Sunday's Sky game against the Aces after reportedly criticizing her Chicago teammates. On Friday, the team confirmed the ban in a statement which read: "The Chicago Sky values the safety, respect, and well-being of every player.

We are committed to accountability so our players can stay focused on playing basketball.. This matter has been handled and resolved internally, and we are moving forward as a team."

It continued:"Because of statements detrimental to the team made by Angel Reese during the league-mandated media, she will not play in the first half of the game on September 7 against the Las Vegas Aces. The matter has been handled and resolved internally, and we are moving forward as a team."This happened earlier this week when the two-time All-Star voiced her displeasure with the team. She did, however, issue an apology for her comments following Wednesday's victory over Connecticut. Also read: What did Angel Reese say?
