 Anusha Shetty starrer mints Rs 27 lakh on Thursday

Anusha Shetty's much-anticipated 'Ghaati' was released on September 5th. The movie is having a tough run at the box office. The movie portrays the 'Baahubali' actress in a gritty and intense avatar, but has not been able to rack up big numbers in its opening weekend.

Early estimates suggest the film made over Rs 27 lakh on Thursday.This brings the film's total earnings to Rs 6.39 crore.According to data by Sacnilk, the film opened on Friday with Rs 2 crore, followed by Rs 1.74 crore on Saturday, showing only a 13% dip. However, the numbers began to slide significantly thereafter. Sunday saw a further dip with Rs 1.15 crore, while Monday collections fell sharply to Rs 65 lakh, registering a 43% drop.

The slide continued into Tuesday with Rs 58 lakh, before sinking further on Wednesday with just Rs 27 lakh in collections.

Theatre occupancy

'Ghaati' recorded an overall 12.93% Telugu occupancy on September 10. In the morning the occupancy was at 12.49%, 13.45% in the afternoon, 12.36% in the evening, and 13.43% at night. The numbers show a low interest among audiences, with cinema houses also showing multiple other releases.

Plot of the film

The film directed by renowned filmmaker Krish Jagarlamudi, is set in the Eastern Ghats along the Andhra-Odisha border.

The film includes the marginalized tribal community known as the Ghaatis who get entangled in the dark world of cannabis smuggling. Working under the crime lords Kaastala Naidu and Kundulu Naidu, they are exploited.
