The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has been conferred with the Golden Globe Tigers Award 2025 in the category of Intelligent Transportation System, at an international ceremony held at The Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre Hotel & Residences, Malaysia, informed a press note from the civic body.
This recognition was awarded for GHMC’s pioneering initiative in deploying a largescale Adaptive Traffic Signal Control System (ATCS) across the city, the note said.
The ATCS project, implemented in collaboration with the Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda Police Commissionerate and Arcadis IBI Group, covers 280 traffic intersections and 94 pelican signals across key corridors in the city. Leveraging real-time traffic detection and centralised dynamic signal control, the system has led to 15–20% increase in average travel speed on key corridors, the press release claimed.
