Sucker Punch has announced at June's PlayStation State of Play that Ghost of Yotei is getting a gameplay deep dive in July 2025. It was again another State of Play event when this highly anticipated title was first revealed by the developers in September 2024.Now it’s been almost a year since we have got the release date of the game as well, which is on October 2, 2025. That’s not the end because the recently concluded PlayStation State of play has revealed more updates regarding the upcoming title.

The highly anticipated spiritual successor to Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yotei is getting a gameplay deep dive in July 2025 as announced by Sucker Punch in the recently concluded PlayStation State of Play.In a new PlayStation.Blog, Sucker Punch has shared a trailer revealing a special State of Play episode dedicated to Ghost of Yotei, which will be dropped next month. The developer has stated this show will be focused entirely on Ghost of Yotei.So far, there have been three trailers revealed for the game - the announcement trailer, the release date trailer and finally the recent State of Play trailer. However, none of them really took the fans in the immersive narrative of 1603’s Japan via a refined gameplay.
That is why this promised gameplay deep dive is going to reveal a lot of new in-depth details at the location, exploration opportunities, combat mechanics and new gameplay system.Ghost of Yotei is set in the feudal Japan of 1603, which is 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima. The upcoming title backdrops around the rugged landscapes surrounding Mount Yotei in Ezo, which is now known as Hokkaido. This time, we will see a new face of the game in Atsu, the first female protagonist of the game. The game is promised to be one of the biggest open-world titles of all time along with superior historical accuracy.
