Girl abducted and raped by man and nephew in Jabalpur district

JABALPUR: A 13-year-old girl was abducted and raped by a man and his nephew in Jabalpur district. Police in Majhgawan have arrested a 22-year-old man and his 17-year-old nephew. According to police, the girl, who lives with her mother in her maternal grandmother’s house, was lured out of her village on Tuesday afternoon. The accused took her on a motorcycle to a nearby forest, where the assault took place. They later dropped her outside the village and allegedly threatened her with dire consequences if she disclosed the incident.On returning home, the survivor narrated the incident to her mother, who approached the police. A case was registered under relevant provisions of the BNS and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The girl was sent for a medical examination.Majhgawan police launched a search and arrested both accused late on Wednesday night.(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
