Goa needs vertical devpt to tackle space issue: Rane

Ponda: Goa needs to look at vertical development to tackle the issues of shortage of land availability for construction, said urban development minister Vishwajit Rane at the inauguration of an annex to the Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) building on Tuesday.The building, constructed by the Goa State Urban Development Agency (GSUDA), would house the offices of the chairperson, its deputy, councillors and the administrative section.The function was attended by all Ponda councillors, the staff of the Ponda municipality, urban development secretary Yetindra Maralkar, director of municipal administration Brijesh Manerkar and contractors of the building.Speaking about the town, Rane said agriculture minister Ravi Naik has made a great contribution in the development of Ponda.He assured the PMC that its remaining project proposals will be cleared on Oct 16.
