Bhagalpur: Fear of return of ‘jungle raj’ weighed on voters, while the positive perception of the Modi-led NDA govt at the Centre and Nitish Kumar headed NDA govt in Bihar helped the alliance sweep all assembly constituencies in Bhagalpur and Banka districts.JD(U) MP Ajay Kumar Mandal said the NDA’s historic victory was driven by good governance, liquor prohibition, development works, women-centric schemes, and the goodwill of both leaders. Former Union minister and BJP national spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain added that schemes under ‘Saat Nischay’, including education, skill development, loans, electricity, piped water, and urban roads, remained firmly in voters’ minds.A voter Rajiv Ranjan Singh said fear of lawlessness united youths, women, and others in favour of the NDA, overpowering the M-Y factor. BJP leader Archana Singh, campaigning door-to-door with her women’s team, said the united NDA front sailed smoothly, while the Mahagathbandhan remained divided. In Bhagalpur, BJP’s Rohit Pandey defeated Congress’s Ajeet Sharma by 13,832 votes.
