One of the accused in the murder of Gopal Khemka in Bihar was arrested as he arrived at the industrialist’s funeral with a flower garland, sources informed CNN-News18.
They also said three criminals had gathered near a tea stall in the Daldali area of Patna before committing the act.
The miscreants had tea there, after which one of them went to Khemka’s residence.
It was also known that the main accused had been absconding in an earlier auto driver murder case in Patna, sources said.
Khemka, who was reportedly associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party, was shot dead by an unidentified armed assailant outside his house in Gandhi Maidan locality at 11.40 pm on July 4 as he was about to alight from his car.
His mortal remains were consigned to flames at Gulbi Ghat in Patna on July 6. A large number of businessmen and industrialists attended Khemka’s cremation.
