Yugyeom’s letter

Beyond the statement, the singer also wrote a letter that read, "To our Ahgase, who has been with me for 12 years, I first wanted to tell you that I will enter the army carefully and in good health to serve our country well. I promise to come back safely without getting hurt, so please take care of yourselves, eat well, and stay healthy too”.He continued and asked fans to look at the moon whenever they miss him too much. “I’ll also look at the same moon, thinking of all of you, and I’ll work hard while I’m away”, he added.

For the past few years, Yugyeom, as well as fellow GOT7 members, had been heavily focused on their solo activities. As of right now, Yugyeom is the only member left to complete his mandatory enlistment. Mark Tuan, BamBam, and Jackson Wang are not Korean and hence, not obligated to serve in the military.
