Supports are coming in from the film industry for the actress Gouri Kishan, who faced a shocking incident of body-shaming during a press meet for her Tamil film 'Others'. The controversy erupted after a journalist asked her co-star about Gouri’s weight, a question the actress immediately called out as “irrelevant and disrespectful.

AMMA extends support

The Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) released a public note that read, “AMMA understands your pain, Gouri. And we strongly believe that it is wrong to engage in body-shaming — irrespective of who does it, when and where.”

Parvathy and Rajisha call out the silence of the team

Actress Parvathy Thiruvothu shared Gouri’s viral clip and lauded her courage, writing, “Kudos to Gouri Kishan for clocking this insane, unacceptable behaviour. The entitlement of the journalist, his ego is on display here.”

She also questioned the lack of response from the film’s team, asking, “How is the producer/director who is facilitating this press meet not speaking up?! Oh sure, the void that’s support and allyship.

Several other celebrities, including Pearly Maaney, Namitha Pramod, Nyla Usha, Reba Monica John, and Krithi Shetty, expressed their support online.

Singer Chinmayi Sripaada praised Gouri for her grace, writing, “The moment you call out a disrespectful and unnecessary question — a whole lot of shouting down happens. So proud that someone so young stood her ground.”Even 'Others' actor Aditya Madhavan issued an apology, saying, "My silence didn’t mean I approve body shaming of anyone. I froze because it caught me off guard as it is my debut… She didn’t deserve that. No one does. Everyone deserves respect
