J. Ramudu, Head of the Department of Botany at Dr. Lakkireddy Hanimi Reddy Government Degree College, Mylavaram, has been selected for the Indian National Science Academy (INSA) Visiting Scientist programme.

According to college Principal Illa Ravi, under this fellowship, Dr. Ramudu will spend one month at the Department of Plant Sciences, University of Hyderabad, conducting collaborative research using advanced laboratory facilities. He is currently studying South Indian orchids, and this programme will significantly support his ongoing research, the Principal said.

The fellowship provides financial assistance of ₹30,000 per month, along with travel allowances. “Opportunities like this enable rural degree colleges to actively participate in high-level research activities on par with universities,” said the Principal. Faculty members congratulated Dr. Ramudu on receiving the INSA Visiting Scientist Fellowship.
