Andhra Pradesh Governor and Rayalaseema University Chancellor S. Abdul Nazeer on Wednesday urged students to serve the society by using education for public good.
Speaking at the university’s 4th convocation, the Governor observed that contributing to nation-building was the foremost duty of every educated individual. He emphasised the need for students to master emerging fields like AI and quantum computing to help achieve the nation’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.
The Governor presented gold medals and degrees to students of various PG and PhD programmes and conferred an honorary doctorate on Indian Oil Corporation Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice-President S.S.V. Ramakumar.
Vice-Chancellor V. Venkata Basava Rao presented the university’s progress report, while APSCHE Chairman Madhu Murthy, Kurnool Collector A. Siri, Superintendent of Police (SP) Vikrant Patil, and several faculty members participated.
