Once a box-office powerhouse loved for his comedic brilliance and dance moves, Govinda has lately been seen more at public functions than on movie sets. Responding to the criticism, the actor said his choices have never been driven by ego.
Govinda wins hearts at school event in Pratapgarh
At a recent school event in Pratapgarh, Govinda won hearts once again with his energetic presence. Dressed sharply in a black-and-white outfit, the actor stepped onto the stage to thunderous applause.
As the crowd cheered him on, he surprised everyone with a dance to his evergreen track ‘Main Toh Raste Se Jaa Raha Tha’.
Govinda reacts to chatter over ‘small shows’
After videos from the event started trending online, a section of social media users began criticizing Govinda for performing at what they termed “small” functions. Reacting to the chatter in an interview with Siddharth Kannan, the actor clarified, “Wo jinhen chhota keh rahe hain wo ek CM ka hai. Aur second jo hai, Member of Parliament hain.
Unhen keh rahe hain." Govinda went on to point out that social media has become impossible to regulate, remarking that people often misuse its reach and that unverified headlines are frequently circulated without any fact-checking.
Govinda clarifies ‘small car’ controversy
Govinda also responded to remarks about him travelling in “chhoti-chhoti gaadi” during his visit to Agra. Explaining the matter, he clarified that it was purely a protocol requirement.
“Unke paas allowed hi wahi hai. Aapki Mercedes sab bahar khadi rakhni padti hai. Kyunki wo wahan ka rule hai,” he said, brushing off suggestions that he was making any compromises in his lifestyle.
Govinda says ego never influenced his work
Govinda further shared that he has never allowed his ego to influence his career choices. “Main kabhi ye sab ego-vego mein nahi aaya,” he remarked. Talking about when the criticism surfaced, the actor revealed that while many on social media were busy commenting on the car he used, he was actually mid-flight, pleasantly surprised when fellow passengers sang “Happy Birthday” to him.
Govinda expresses gratitude for life and success
Expressing gratitude for his journey, Govinda said he continues to count his blessings every day. “Main to shukriya ada karta rehta hoon bhaiya ki upar wale ne bahut diya hai humein,” he shared, making it clear that he avoids engaging with negativity. The actor also dismissed any notions of unhappiness or struggle in his life, saying, “Aisa kuch bhi nahi hai boss. Upar wale ne bahut diya hai. Hum bahut khush hain.” Ending on a thoughtful note, he urged others to achieve success the right way, adding, “Jo jo aage nikal raha hai, chahe jis tareeke se nikal raha hai, aage nikle… Hadein paar nahi kijiye.
Par aap top pe aaiye, achha lagega.”
