The annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple concluded with ‘Dhwajavarohanam Mahotsavam’ in Tirupati on Sunday. In the morning, grand ‘Chakrasnana Mahotsavam’ was conducted at Kapilatheertham in the presence of thousands of devotees.

At 6 a.m., Govindaraja Swamy’s idol, along with his consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi, left Chakrathalwar temple in a procession amid the sounds of instruments and Vedic chanting, and reached Alwar Tirtha in Kapilatheertham. Along the way, the devotees offered camphor harathis at every step and gave the Swamy a grand welcome.

The ceremonial idols were dipped in holy water, and ‘abhishekam’ was performed with milk, curd, honey, sandalwood, spices, and various fruit juices. The devotees witnessed the holy dip of the idol of ‘Sudarsana Chakra’ and took a holy bath in the same place. Later, the idols were taken to P.R. Garden.

The idols were later taken from P.R. Garden to Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple. The devotees witnessed the grand procession encircling the four streets of the temple. TTD Tirumala Pedda Jeeyar Swamy, Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, Deputy EO Shanthi, AEO Narayana Chowdary, Superintendent Chiranjeevi, Temple Inspector Dhananjaya and others participated in this programme.
