Govt plans to establish industrial security force to boost investment

Patna: In a move to strengthen the state’s industrial ecosystem and boost investment, the Bihar govt is planning to establish the Bihar Industrial Security Force (BISF), a specialised security force intended to create a safer, more confidence-building environment for investors.Industries minister Dilip Kumar Jaiswal said on Sunday that the proposal for setting up the BISF will be sent to the state govt soon. The primary objective of the BISF will be to provide a secure environment for investors and industrial units, he said.Speaking to reporters after various joint meetings organised at BJP state headquarters in the city on Sunday, the minister said creating a safe environment for investors in the state is the govt’s top priority.Jaiswal said, “It is necessary to provide a secure and enabling environment to the investors, so that they not only establish industries in Bihar but also come forward with large-scale investments.” He added that the deployment of the new security force will further strengthen the security system in industrial areas.Referring to the review meeting held with CM Nitish Kumar, the minister said two main priorities of the govt have been decided—rule of law and employment for youth.

Keeping these goals in mind, the industries department has been directed to work with a clear roadmap and time-bound action.“The formation of BISF will strengthen the confidence of entrepreneurs willing to set up industries in Bihar. By removing uncertainties related to security, the govt wants to make the state a more favourable and secure destination for industries. This step is being considered an important turning point in the state’s industrial development journey,” Jaiswal added.
