Govt. will soon fill permanent posts in public universities: Minister M.C. Sudhakar

Minister for Higher Education M.C. Sudhakar announced that the government will soon fill all permanent teaching and non-teaching staff vacancies in public universities across the State, along with providing the necessary infrastructure.

He inaugurated the new Post Graduate (PG) Centre of Dr. Manmohan Singh Bengaluru City University at Bagalur, under the Byatarayanapura Assembly constituency on Tuesday.

Mr. Sudhakar emphasised that along with expanding access to higher education, due attention must be given to maintaining quality.

Presiding over the programme, Minister for Revenue and MLA for Byatarayanapura Krishna Byre Gowda assured that land required for the new centre would be provided. He also stated that prompt attention would be given to the construction of a public hospital and a sports complex.

The university’s Vice-Chancellor, Ramesh B., said that the postgraduate is an important step towards providing quality higher education at low cost to students from poor and middle-class backgrounds.

He appealed to a large number of students to enroll in the PG Centre and make good use of the opportunity. He also explained that the university is giving priority to skill development and the creation of employment opportunities.
