Case filed against Kerala Congress MLA for stalking, intimidation

An FIR has been registered against Kerala Congress MLA Rahul for stalking and criminal intimidation. The Crime Branch initiated a suo motu case based on complaints from politicians, social activists, and a notice from the Child Rights Commission, as no victims have filed a complaint directly. The FIR alleges that he stalked women aged 18 to 60 on social media, sent messages, and made threats related to forced abortions. The case is registered under BNS sections 78-2 (stalking) and 352 (criminal intimidation), and section 120 of the KP Act. In response, the Congress party has suspended him and he has resigned as the Youth Congress State President, but he continues as an MLA. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan noted the unusual nature of the multiple allegations, stating, "in the past, we have seen incidents where one or two cases or one or two incidents have come out, but this is like multiple cases."
