Rockstar Games may be close to opening pre-orders for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto (GTA) VI. A recent RockstarIntel report cited a source that draws on the PlayStation Store database to support this claim.
The X (formerly Twitter) account @PlaystationSize, known for surfacing new game details, download sizes, and pre-order listings from PlayStation's backend before they go public, reports that GTA 6 title IDs have just been added to the PlayStation Store database, a step that typically precedes a pre-order launch.Fans have so far only been able to wishlist the game on PlayStation and Xbox, a feature that became available following the release of Trailer 2 last May. With title IDs now appearing in the backend, pre-orders across both platforms may not be far off, the report claimsIn an X post, the account says, “I expect we’ll see something about the game soon, probably the start of pre-orders.”
Someone asked the account how long we typically have to wait from when these IDs pop up to when prices and pre-orders go live. PlayStationSize responded by saying, “To be honest, it completely depends on the publisher, and it’s not something I know for sure. But I don’t think there’s going to be a long wait.” There has also been a lot of speculation over whether Rockstar will put a $70 price tag on the game. This comes after Take-Two confirmed last month that the marketing campaign for GTA 6 will begin as early as summer this year.
This suggests that pre-orders for GTA 6 could open in the near term, ahead of a wider marketing push planned for later in the year. The GTA VI store page was also updated toward the end of last year to feature a GTA+ ad. In other recent developments around the game, a couple of artists have also hinted at their involvement in GTA 6.
GTA 6 to launch in November: What we know so far
Recently, Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of GTA maker Rockstar Games, reaffirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on November 19, 2026.
The title, which has seen two delays over the past couple of years, appears to be on track for its given release date. The game is expected to feature an open-world map inspired by modern-day Florida, dual protagonists, and revised gameplay mechanics. Online reports suggest GTA VI will introduce a female protagonist named Lucia alongside a male character, a first for the franchise. The dual-character structure is said to add depth to the narrative, with players able to explore environments ranging from urban cities and beaches to swamps and small towns. On the technical side, rumours point to ray tracing, volumetric clouds, and realistic reflections as part of the game's visual upgrades. NPC behaviour is also said to have been reworked, with characters expected to respond more naturally to the player's actions. Police behaviour is rumoured to be more considered as well, with new stealth mechanics expected to aid evasion of law enforcement.Other features said to be in the works include revised physics systems, broader character customisation options, and access to a wider range of interior spaces than previous entries in the series.
