According the police, the people inside the car didn't get the chance to come out of the vehicle and were burnt alive following the accident. Three people inside the SUV were also hurt.
The accident took place at around 3.30 pm on Sunday
Seven people, including two children, were killed when the car in which they were travelling collided with a SUV and burst into flames on a highway in Gujarat's Surendranagar district on Sunday. The incident occurred at around 3.30 pm on Sunday.
The accident was so severe that the car burst into flames immediately after the accident.
According to the police, the people inside the car didn't get the chance to come out of the vehicle and were burnt alive following the accident. Three people inside the SUV were also hurt.
"Seven people travelling in the car were burnt alive while three in the SUV escaped with minor injuries following the incident near Dedadara village at around 3.30 pm," said Vadhvan Police Station Inspector, PB Jadeja.
The fire brigade rushed to the spot, brought the fire under control and carried out the rescue operations. The bodies were so badly burnt that they could hardly be recognised.
Following the accident, there was a huge traffic jam on the highway which has now been normalised.
