The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has arrested three men accused of planning a major terror attack in Gujarat, with investigators identifying Syed Ahmed Mohiuddin — a Hyderabad resident and France-trained MBBS doctor — as the alleged mastermind. The revelation that a highly educated professional was at the centre of the plot has stunned security officials. The two others arrested are also believed to have played significant operational roles.

During a search at Mohiuddin’s residence on Sunday, ATS teams seized a cache of sophisticated weapons, including two Glock pistols, a Beretta pistol, and 30 live cartridges. Suspected Links To ISKP

Initial investigations suggest Mohiuddin was in contact with members of the ISKP (Islamic State–Khorasan Province). The possibility of an international terror network aiding a local conspiracy has heightened the gravity of the case.

Remand And Ongoing Probe

The accused were produced before a court, which remanded them to police custody until November 18. ATS officials expect further interrogation to reveal whether more individuals were involved and if the group had any logistical or ideological support within India.
