A tragic incident unfolded in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar when a middle-aged scooter rider was fatally struck by a BMW, reportedly driven by an individual under the influence of alcohol. The collision threw the victim onto the car’s bonnet, killing him on the spot.

The incident happened on Thursday morning. According to eyewitnesses, the car, driven by a man under the influence of alcohol, struck the scooter at an intersection.

The deceased was identified as a resident of Gandhinagar. The driver of the BMW sustained serious injuries in the crash and was subsequently admitted to Gandhinagar Civil Hospital for medical treatment.

The video of the incident shows the moment the black BMW collided with the scooter as it was taking a turn at the intersection.

In the video, a man wearing a white shirt can be seen sitting on a chair in front of his house at the time of the incident. Just as he was sitting, a BMW travelling at high speed struck the scooter a few meters away, prompting him to rush toward the scene.

According to the locals who gathered at the scene, the driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident. These allegations have prompted police to initiate a thorough investigation into the incident.

The police have initiated legal proceedings against the BMW driver, who is currently receiving hospital treatment. The investigation will rely on eyewitness accounts and CCTV footage to determine the course of action, India Today reported.
