Gujarat man kills wife, girlfriend over money issues, dumps bodies at same spot

The Gujarat police, on Monday, arrested a man named Faisal Pathan for allegedly murdering his girlfriend, Riya, following a dispute over a monetary transaction. During his interrogation, the accused confessed to his crime, and also said that he murdered his wife three months ago, and dumped the body at the same place where he dumped his girlfriend’s body.

The incident took place at a deserted rice mill near the Navsari national highway in Gujarat, where a man found a naked and blood-soaked body on Wednesday. The local police recovered the body, sent it for a post-mortem, and started looking for the accused.

Upon checking the footage of nearly 100 CCTV cameras in the nearby areas, the police identified Pathan and arrested him within hours. During his interrogation, Pathan confessed to the killing of his girlfriend, Riya, and dumping the body in the rice mill.

He further noted that he met Riya a year ago, befriended her, and they often used to meet at the deserted mill. On Tuesday, they had a dispute over some monetary transactions, and as a result, he murdered Riya and dumped the body there.

During the investigation, the accused further stated that three months ago, he murdered his estranged wife, Suhana and dumped her body in the same place. The two got married; however, Suhana’s family did not accept the relationship. Hence, in July, they got separated.

Despite the separation, Pathan called Suhana at the same rice mill three months back. When she came to meet, he murdered her and left her body at the mill.

Following Pathan’s statement, the police went to the spot and recovered a skeleton and sent it to the forensics for further tests.

The police have registered a case against Faisal for murdering his wife and girlfriend.
