The surge in metro passengers followed severe flooding across Gurgaon, making travel by car or bus extremely difficult. Roads were waterlogged, vehicles stalled, and traffic came to a near standstill in many parts of the city.Commuters expressed their frustration online, criticising the lack of preparedness by authorities to manage the sudden rush. Traffic jams lasting 5–6 hours and waterlogged streets remain a recurring problem, underlining the urgent need for better drainage systems and improved city planning to cope with heavy monsoon rains.
